Cape Palliser Lighthouse and Seals

Cape Palliser Road
Cape Palliser, Wellington
258 steps take you up to a sweeping view of the coast and the South Island. There has been a light station here since 1897.

On the coast a few hundred meters to the west you can find the inhabitants of the fur seal colony. This is believed to be the only North Island place where the fur seals breed. It is a good picnic spot in fine weather.

Cape Palliser is the end point for a tour on the DayOut IPhone tour app.
