Weta Cave Museum and Store and Tour

Camperdown Road, Miramar
Miramar, Wellington
No film buff visiting Wellington will want to miss visiting the Weta Cave, a show piece for Weta Workshop which creates film and television effects and has been closely associated with film-maker Peter Jackson. Now their collectibles are on display in a small museum and shop.

For many people the highlight of the visit will be the 20 minute video on the history and creative activities of Weta Workshop. It features excerpts from many of the films for which they have provided effects as well as explaining the activities of the various departments.

There is no entry charge.
To get there by bus use Service: 2 - Wellington - Miramar, to Darlington Road at Camperdown Rd - it is then a short walk.

It is now possible to take a 45 minute tour ($24) of the Weta Workahop. Book on-line. Tickets are sold on a time of entry basis.
