Matai Tua Pa - St Albans Church - Cemetery Garden

SH 58 Pauatahanui
Pauatahanui, Wellington
St Alban's Church, designed by F de J Clere and consecrated in 1898, sits on the site of the Matai-Taua pa. The cemetery to the west, the Pauahatanui Public Burial Ground, has been planted with traditional roses.

Volunteers tend the roses which have been planted over a period since 1991. During the spring and summer months is the best time to visit.
