Riverlands Cob Cottage

Riverlands is on SH1, just east of Blenheim
Riverlands, Nelson/Marlborough
A fine example of the sort of building erected by New Zealand’s European pioneers in areas in which timber was scarce, the Riverlands Cob Cottage (cob is a general term for different forms of construction which used earth as a building material) began its life around 1860 as a farmhouse. The carefully restored cottage has been furnished to create the impression a pioneer family is still living in it.
